I created this equatorial platform to motorize my Strock 250 telescope. The instrument has an altazimutal mount which makes it lightweight and well suited for visual observations. However, astrophotography can’t be achieved if you don’t have a motorized mount.

This platform is moving like an equatorial mount but has a low profile which lets you install a dobsonian telescope on it. The rotation is created by using servo motors and a current regulator circuit to adjust the angular speed. A DPDT switch was installed to let the platform turn in the other direction, making it usable in the southern hemisphere.
